Towards the end of WW2 (1943-1945), air strikes from Allied Forces bombarded the island of Formosa*. Legend has it that gods and goddesses were sighted to catch bombs when the island was raided. This film explores legend, folklore, and divinity during times of of war and collectively forgotten trauma. Raid also touches upon fraught issues relating to the Taiwanese identity and the gap that lingers in Taiwan’s wartime memory.
